Some cynical views on SCA

Another buzzword around at the moment is IBM’s Service Component Architecture (SCA).
There is an article on developerWorks that describes SCA - Service Component Architecture:
Service Component Architecture (SCA) is a set of specifications which describe a model for building applications and systems using a Service-Oriented Architecture. SCA extends and complements prior approaches to implementing services, and SCA builds on open standards such as Web services.
Basically, my understanding is that SCA is a proposed standard for how to develop components that could be used within a system built along the principals of a Service Oriented Architecture.
James Governor over at RedMonk writes a fairly cynical piece on Why SCA has a lot to prove: J2EE all over.
