People talking behind your back
Posted by Sim' under People
Makes you nervous when people talk about you right ? Especially in another language !
While searching the blogosphere, I came across a post on a Dutch blog called e’office’ that referred to my new blog here at b5media. From what I can tell on the site - they are another of the Notes/Domino faithful blogging about IBM software … very good! Pity I don’t understand a word of it. Gerco Wolfswinkel writes: IBM online: IBMEye
mmm … wonder what they are saying about me. Perhaps Babelfish can help?
Ahh okay - that’s better. It’s not so bad … nothing nasty there. I think they make some comment about it being mostly technical stuff so far and little financial or economic analysis.
That’s very true - I have been mostly posting technical info … but mostly because there hasn’t been any financial news announced by IBM since I started the blog a week or so back.
I’ll make an effort to cover that side of things too - once there is some news to report.
I also don’t intend to report on only things that other people have already written about - that’s mostly just relaying the news. Although I do generally try to add some commentary about what is being written. My intention is to also start posting more original entries providing details on some of the IBM products and how they are being used. Any suggestions on what you would like me to blog about would be useful.
Anyway - thanks for the link Gerco!
By the way, looking at the e’office’ website - looks like they are running WebSphere Portal to run their site (they are an IBM business partner) - and they also have an English language version too. Very slick - looks very good.

they say that your blog is ‘leuk’, this is a good thing. Leuk means something like nice.

Sweet…I found a link to my show on a middle-eastern blog once. I had no idea what they were saying but you’re right. It’s a little unnerving

Wow, that was quick! Nice to be noticed
You’re right, we are an IBM business partner. We try to provide Notes/Domino-, Workplace- and IBM-related news (in that order
to our customers and other interested parties through the blog. There’s not many Dutch IBM focussed sources of information; we try to fill that gap a bit.
I wrote that, given your technical background, I didn’t expect financial stuff to show up here. Sounds like I was wrong - which is good, I guess!

Thanks Gerco … and it’s good to see companies like yourself aiming to service your local market effectively.
I must admit I’m still working to find my “groove” in exactly how I want to position this blog. I keep my really technical material for http://www.workplacechannel.com/ … and the stuff here is supposed to be less technical - but now that I think about it, it still is quite technical.
Your comments made me think about what else I could be discussing - and IBM finances is a very good topic too (I’m a shareholder as well as an employee, so I have an interest in this too).
I’ll certainly try and broaden the scope of what I’m going to write about … any more suggestions on what you’d like to see here would be appreciated.
