John Ribeiro reports for IDG News Service in NetworkWorld.com about IBM India’s growth rate in 2005.

Reporters were told by managing director of IBM India, Shanker Annaswamy, that revenue increased by 55% last year, up from 45% in 2004. The growth came from across the entire business, driven mostly by IBM’s focus on specific industries such as banking and government.

IBM employs 38,500 staff in India as of the end of 2005, which has also grown significantly from figures of 24,000 the previous year.
