According to a recently released Gartner report, “IBM is first in worldwide server revenue for the eleventh consecutive quarter, first in UNIX server revenue with the top position in both the fourth quarter 2005 and full-year 2005, and the number one position in blade server revenue for 2005.”

IBM’s growth in both Unix server and blade server revenue has increased significantly. Apparently, IBM is also the number one Linux server vendor.

Some interesting stats from the report:

  • IBM is number one in worldwide server revenue
  • IBM grew its UNIX-based revenue year-to-year (YTY) for the sixth consecutive quarter ending 4Q05
  • IBM is first in UNIX server revenue
  • IBM continued to lead in blade server revenue share for the seventh consecutive quarter ending 4Q05
  • IBM is number one in overall Linux-based server revenue worldwide
