IBM RFID Video
I already did a post a few months back on IBM’s Clipped Tag RFID chip but I saw this advertorial video and though it was worth a look. And without further ado:
Bonus Features…

Cool RFID Helpdesk Ad (it won’t let me embed it)

A Couple Fun Reads
IBM is up big today because of a share buyback and dividend increase. “I can’t figure out how to grow the business and spend all this money. Just tell the accountants get rid of it” grumbled Sam Palmisano in his sleep. It’s been a fun week to follow IBM. There are some great [...]

Why does IBM embrace Open-Source
Much has been made by myself as well as others, about IBM’s open arm embrace of open source software. A great article at preens.com notes the oddity in the following way: IBM, the epitome of conservative business, de-emphasizes its billion-dollar “AIX” operating system in favor of a product developed by a loose coalition of [...]

IBM Masters Commercials
Did anyone happen to tape the masters? A lot of people have emailed asking for links or details about the IBM commercials during the masters. I didn’t see them and don’t know what agency made them or anything. If anyone has the video, or could send me a link or a file [...]

Steve Jobs Calls Me Out
Steve Jobs’ fake blog did a post Tuesday about IBM and their software growth hype:
You gotta hand it to IBM. No matter how crappy their business is they can always find a chunk of fool’s gold in the pile of dogshit and then get someone in the media (or everyone in the media) to [...]

Infomation Week has an article this week claiming, among other things, that IBM provides sponsorship for the the nonprofit that freely hosts Groklaw, a fine legal repository famous for its anti SCO slant.
Per the article:
Groklaw, a widely read Web site that has sided with IBM in its legal battle with The SCO Group, receives free [...]

IBM and Web Accessibility at CSUN conference
IBM has been a pioneer of sorts in web accessibility and has figured prominently in recent years at the Cal State Northridge Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference.
Last year at the CSUN accessibility conference, IBM Presenters Rich Schwerdtfeger and George Kraft outlined the IBM Linux Accessibility Project’s efforts in the open source community for [...]

Should IBM Buy Cognos?
I’ve been pondering for sometime about a future hookup of IBM and Cognos. Motley Fool talked about it maybe six months ago and IBM’s appetite seemed insatiable around that time. This announcement (IBM to use Cognos as its embedded workforce performance reporting and analysis engine) makes that more likely I suppose. There [...]

Embittered HP
Perhaps I was right to hate HP in my earlier post. HP’s Richard Fichera goes to town mocking IBM in the blade server arena. His blog, The Eye on Blades (clearly a veiled yet lesser attempt to duplicate this eye on IBM blog*) mocks IBM for being "publicly irritable, combative, and occasionally rash."
IBM touts [...]
